BC Canada Pavilion
From May to September 2008, the British Columbia Canada Pavilion will build on the Province’s Asia-Pacific Initiative and help ensure local businesses and communities can take full advantage of Asia’s economic transformation. The BC Canada Pavilion will introduce the best of BC and Canada to an international audience and position our province as the pre-eminent economic and cultural crossroads between Asia and North America.
Building on what started at the 2006 Winter Games in Torino with the BC-Canada House, the British Columbia Canada Pavilion has been developed to build business connections and take advantage of outstanding media relations opportunities for BC.
The BC Canada Pavilion offers exhibitry for general public to view what makes BC an outstanding place to live, work, play and invest, as well as a business delegation program to help build new relationships and strengthen partnerships between two great nations – Canada and China. The Pavilion program runs May – September 2008, before and during the 2008 Summer Games.

British Columbia-Canada Place in Torino
British Columbia-Canada Place was “the place to be” during the life of the Torino Winter Games in 2006. British Columbia-Canada Place, a state-of-the-art immersive exhibition space with a difference, combined the past and future, old and new. A one-of-a-kind environment designed for visitors to experience British Columbia as one of the best places on earth to live, work, play and invest.
Situated in the picturesque Piazzale Valdo Fusi in Torino, British Columbia-Canada Place was central to the Olympic action and provided a spectacular backdrop for thousands of international journalists attending the Games. Reporters and photographers represented a worldwide audience of more than two billion viewers, and the provincial organization responsible for managing B.C.’s Olympic investment, the Ministry of Finance’s BC Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Secretariat, funded this initiative to capitalize on the worldwide opportunity to promote British Columbia.
In an attempt to share Canada’s passion for hockey with the rest of the world, British Columbia-Canada Place hosted daily street hockey games for journalists, athletes, coaches, officials and visitors on the piazza. Businesses from around B.C. came together to showcase their industries.
British Columbia-Canada Place, open to the public and invited guests from January 22 through March 21, 2006, brought the best of BC to the world.
